'05 Mitsubishi Outlander

Expectations can be high when a vehicle is based on a powerful predecessor like the Lancer as its primary platform, and the 2005 Mitsubishi Outlander meets most of those expectations well. The Outlander is among Mitsubishi’s most affordable sport-utility vehicles (SUVs) available in the automobile market, and the 2005 model year gets quite a few additions.

The primary powertrain of the Mitsubishi Outlander is the Inline-4 engine providing 160 horsepower in the base model. The 2005 make introduces a new manual transmission system with five speed options in the LS trim level, available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive models.

The braking system is upgraded in the 2005 Mitsubishi Outlander with the introduction of disk brakes in place of the earlier used drum brakes. An anti-lock braking system is an option that is available for some of the models. From standard multiple airbags to the optional leather upholstery, this SUV looks set to contend in the highly competitive market.
